Do you have a cancellation policy?

Yes. All appointments require strict 24 hours notice for cancellations. We charge a cancellation fee of 50% of the appointment for less than 24 hours notice of the scheduled appointment and the full fee of the therapy session for a ‘no show’ or ‘no notice’ of cancellation of the scheduled appointment.

What should I expect for my first session?

  • Physical assessment, including posture and movement

  • Breath work to prep for your stretch. This allows your nervous system to relax to get the most out of the stretch

  • 60 minute pain-free assisted stretch session tailored uniquely to you.

  • You can experience a combination of fascial stretch therapy, PNF, cupping, myofascial release and remedial massage as needed.

What do I wear?

We suggest wearing leggings, yoga pants or sweatpants/tracksuit bottoms and a comfortable top. Shorts are acceptable. Please wear compression shorts underneath if your shorts are baggy.

How often should I get stretched?

Each body is unique. We all move differently during our day. We all hold stress differently. Our diet, lifestyle , activity, body history and emotional wellbeing vary.

After you get stretched for the first time, you can expect to receive a recommendation for how often you should get stretched. This could range from anywhere from twice a week, to once a month.

What is Fascia?

Fascia is the connective tissue and is known as the biological fabric that literally holds us together and connects everything in our body. Fascia covers your entire body; from the deepest layer of your skin, all the way down to your bones, encapsulating our cells, each individual muscle fibre, each muscle and organs. It houses an astounding 80% of the body’s nerve endings. It consists of three layers: the superficial fascia, the deep fascia, and the subserous fascia. The particular fascia that surrounds the muscles is called myofascia.

How soon should I expect to see results from FST?

Most clients have reported to see/feel best results after 3-5 sessions combined with home practice stretching.

What is the difference between static stretching (traditional stretching) and FST® ?

Static assisted stretching is when an isolated muscle or single muscle group is taken to near end range where it is then held for commonly between 15 -30 secs and then repeated 2-3 times pushing deeper each time. It can be very uncomfortable and at times even painful with short term gains and results. It is the “old school” way of stretching.

VS

FST® works from joint capsule level and out to the entire myofascial network which includes muscles as well as their neighbouring joints, ligaments, tendons, and bones. We use joint traction combined with a series of wave-like movements in a dynamic gentle rhythm working with the client to progress their range, because of our pain free approach we access the parasympathetic nervous system where the body stops protecting and guarding and we can access new ranges with ease. The idea is the stretch should be enjoyable, comfortable and relaxing. This ensures long term gains and results. FST®is modern, science backed and results driven approach to stretching.

FST® is different than what we think of as traditional stretching or manual therapy in that it is more functional and dynamic. Unlike traditional stretching or bodywork that only attempts to work on muscles, FST ® targets the entire myofascial system by targeting muscles as well as their neighboring joints, ligaments, tendons, and bones to eliminate pain, improve mobility, restore impaired function & optimize athletic performance.

NO PAIN NO GAIN is an old school approach. Try taking our GAIN WITHOUT PAIN approach and rediscover just how much potential for change you body truly has.
